Major porject progress update 25.02.21

Hello!

For my Major project at univeristy I'm recreating and using the animated movie Anatasia as my inspiration to make Anastasias final dress in the movie.

The costume is in the end going to consist of:

- A elliptical crinoline

- Chemise

- Corset

- Petticoat

- Underskirt

- Skirt

- Bodice

- Kokoshnik tiara

- Sash

This is a dress I've been dreaming of making for years now and with covid still being a huge road block it was the prefect oppertunity to tackle this dress!

So far I've finished the chemise and I'm finishing of the corset as you read this.

The crinoline is already made.

After I've finished the corset my next task is to make a new petticoat as the one i made was not up to my own standars and I would like to make it in cotton rather than organza.

I will be using the TV247 – 1865 Elliptical Skirt pattern from Truly Victorian and modefy it to a petticoat with frills.

My plan so far is to modify and use the same pattern form my underksirt and then drape the skirt over the base layers as it wil contain a train at the back.

This project I'm planing on testing out my newly found skills in machine embroidery where I've designed and digetized embroidery appliques for the skirt and bodice. I wil also be expermineting with Bezel bead embroidery for the different gemstones i intend to include.

I will also be making the kokshnik myself.

The deisgn is made by me and inspierd by the original design form the movie from 1997.
