The Little Mermaid

During spring and summer of 2023 I had the pleasure of designing the costumes for an amateur theater group in Hokksund, Norway. The designs were used to guide the group of parents, creating and sourcing the costumes for the actors. Working with young directors and parents, who has made costumes for several projects before, was challenging and fun. There is much passion in these kinds of productions.

Some designs really came to live straight from my designs, while other costumes were more loosely based my designs. Considering what they could get their hands on at the time. With smaller groups like this there is a lot of sourcing involved and not all designs will be 100% accurate. This is the charm of amateur theater groups with parents and volunteers involved. Without them there wouldn’t be a production at all.
